Chess Coaching: Build Focus & Strategic Skill
Online chess classes for kids, students and adults — beginner to advanced — with accessible coaching for Persons with Disabilities.
Why we do it · Traditional schools often test intelligence in only one way, leaving many smart people feeling left out. Chess treats everyone equally — it builds thinking skills, focus and good decision-making for anyone who plays.
At Enable Minds, we want to create a world where everyone has equal chances to learn, work, and live happily. When schools, workplaces, and communities remove physical and mental barriers, everyone can do their best. Our goal is to provide learning, emotional support, and earning chances for all people. We believe that when we make things easier and more accessible for one group, we build a better and stronger society for everyone.
Persons with Disabilities face immense challenges while navigating the world — from early intervention and inclusion in education to higher education, employment, the skill deficit, and even marriage. The RPWD Act already promises what these families still have to fight for, so what is missing is not the law — it is the distance between rights on paper and true accessibility in real life. Having lived these challenges himself, founder Pratik Patil started Enable Minds to close that gap: learning and earning opportunities for Persons with Disabilities through Chess, alongside counseling, peer support and skill-upliftment programs for all.
That is why Enable Minds works as a coalition — parents, doctors, lawyers, educators and well-wishers standing together — so that inclusion becomes ordinary in one school, one court, one clinic and one home at a time.
Enable Minds was started by Pratik Patil, inspired by his own life journey with Cerebral Palsy. Growing up, Pratik saw that rigid systems and a lack of support often leave talented people behind. He realized that when people are given the right tools and a fair chance, they can show their true skills. That is why Enable Minds was created. While our foundation is built on making the world accessible for Persons with Disabilities, our classes, counseling, and workshops are designed to help everyone. We want to give every single person the chance to grow and succeed.
I believe Chess is more than a game—it is a way to develop thinking, focus, decision-making, and confidence. My 12-year journey with Chess and education in Counseling Psychology have taught me that every student has a different learning style and potential, and that the right support at the right time can change the direction of a life. That is why I started Enable Minds—an initiative that brings together chess coaching, psychological counseling, career and premarital counseling, peer consultation with parents who have walked the same path, and skill-upliftment webinars and events. Through Chess Coaching, students learn to think and perform better; through Counseling, people work through self-esteem, anxiety, and personal challenges; and through our community, families of Persons with Disabilities find guidance for early intervention, education, employment, and independence. A special purpose of my work is making Chess and learning accessible to Persons with Disabilities—because I have lived those barriers myself—and helping them move toward skills, confidence, and earning opportunities of their own.

No family should navigate disability alone.
Parents of children with disabilities face the same questions again and again — early intervention, school inclusion, higher education, employment, skills, and marriage. Enable Minds is building a peer support network where experienced parents counsel new parents, and doctors and lawyers help families find the right support. Reading general advice online is not enough — real, practical help comes from people who have faced the exact same problems.
