An initiative by Enable Minds

An Inclusive Vision.

The Roadmap for On-Ground Inclusion — bridging the gap between the RPWD Act on paper and true accessibility in real life.

This is Enable Minds’ working plan for turning accessibility and equal opportunity into everyday reality — so Persons with Disabilities and their families do not have to face education, employment and social barriers alone.

It is not a charity appeal. It is a working ecosystem: doctors, lawyers, special educators, veteran parents and skill trainers on the same side of the table, so that no family has to fight these systems alone.

  • Early answers, not lost years.
  • Schools that say yes.
  • Skills that earn from home.
  • Dignity at every step.

Rights on paper. Change on the ground.

A connected, inclusive community of diverse people joined by golden lines

Where it starts

The questions families ask us.

If one of these is your question right now, you are neither late nor alone.

Asked every week

My child is not reaching milestones. Should I just wait and watch?

My child is not reaching milestones. Should I just wait and watch?

Waiting costs the years that matter most. We connect families to rational medical pathways, and to parents who have already walked this road.

The school says they 'cannot manage' my child. Is that legal?

No. The RPWD Act protects that admission. Our legal volunteers help families push back, and our special educators help the school say yes.

I have a degree, but no one is giving me a job. Now what?

A degree without a marketable skill is a dead end. We build skills that earn from home, starting with psychology-backed online chess coaching.

Will my child ever be seen as an equal — in a classroom, a workplace, a marriage?

Stigma fades where people meet. We sensitize schools and workplaces, and counsel families on confidence, relationships and life after eighteen.

And the honest answer to all of them

  • You do not need all the answers before you ask.
  • You do not need money to begin a conversation.
  • You do not need to explain yourself twice.
  • You do not need to do this alone.

The problem

The Systemic Domino Effect.

One missed step knocks down the next. By the time a family finds the courage to ask for help, three doors have already closed.

Early Intervention Crisis

Lost time to superstition and lack of guidance in rural and semi-urban areas.

  • Families wander between temples, clinics and quacks while the critical first years slip away.
  • Therapy costs are unclear, unregulated and often out of reach.
  • No one explains the disability certificate or the UDID process.

The Schooling Mirage

'External' schooling isolates students, limiting social exposure and self-worth.

  • Admissions are quietly refused despite clear legal protection.
  • Exam accommodations and writers are treated as favours, not rights.
  • A child who studies alone at home rarely learns to belong anywhere.

The Employment Cliff

Ninety-five percent drop out before higher education. Degrees without marketable skills equal unemployment.

  • Campuses are out of reach long before the interview room is.
  • Very few people know which skills truly allow earning from home.
  • Earning is the fastest route to dignity — and it is the least discussed.

Social Stigma

Internalized ableism limits life goals, confidence, and relationship compatibility.

  • Low self-esteem quietly shrinks what a person dares to attempt.
  • Marriage and companionship are discussed last, if at all.
  • Families carry the weight alone, with no one who understands.

What the dominoes add up to

  • A talented child labelled 'not capable' by the age of seven.
  • A family that has stopped asking for anything at all.
  • An adult with a degree and no income.
  • A community that was never taught how to include.

The solution

True Inclusion Strategy.

Four pillars that turn this roadmap into reality.

No single institution, school or law fixes this alone. A diagnosis needs a doctor, an admission needs a lawyer, a classroom needs a trained teacher, and a future needs a skill that pays. Enable Minds brings all four into one conversation — and hands a family one clear next step instead of ten phone numbers.

Medical & Peer Network

Rational medical pathways and income-scaled peer counseling from veteran parents.

  • Doctors who explain the next honest step, not the next expensive one.
  • Veteran parents guiding new parents through the same maze.
  • Help with certificates, UDID and pension paperwork.

Legal Advocacy

Legal teams fighting illegal hurdles in school admissions and RPWD implementation.

  • Plain-language explanation of the rights a family already holds.
  • Support letters and follow-up when a school refuses admission.
  • Help with escalating workplace and accessibility violations.

Inclusive Sensitization

Special educators transforming hostile schools into inclusive spaces.

  • Teacher workshops on classroom accommodations that actually work.
  • Peer sensitization so classmates include instead of stare.
  • Guidance for parents on what exactly to ask the school for.

Skill-Building & Earning

Psychology-backed training and Work-From-Home earning through online chess coaching.

  • Chess judges the move, never the body that made it.
  • Train as a coach or an arbiter and earn from home.
  • Communication and memory workshops that schools leave out.

Every pillar is volunteer-led, income-scaled and built so that others can copy it. The goal is not to run a programme — it is to make inclusion ordinary in one school, one court, one clinic and one home at a time.

Our promise

You do not have to figure this out alone.

Behind every question on this page is a person: a mother who stopped sleeping, a father who stopped asking, a young adult who stopped trying. The pain is rarely one big event — it is a thousand small doors closing.

So our answer is human before it is official. Start exactly where you are, with someone who has already walked this road. No judgement, no lecture, and no fee before you even know what you need.

When you reach out, this is what actually happens

  • A real person replies — a parent or a counsellor, never an auto-message.
  • You get one clear next step, not ten opinions.
  • You are pointed to the right service — medical, legal, counselling, chess or skilling.
  • Costs are shared openly before anything begins, never afterwards.
  • You can step back any time, without explaining yourself.

Call to action

Build the Ecosystem With Us.

The RPWD Act already promises what these families still have to beg for. What is missing is not the law — it is people willing to stand beside one family at a time.

  • Doctors and therapists — show one family an honest way forward each month.
  • Lawyers — one admission letter, one Right to Information filing.
  • Educators — sensitize one school, or mentor one teacher.
  • Parents and students — tell us what worked and what did not.

Three simple steps: fill the form, choose where you want to help, and we will connect you with the family or school that needs you.

No fee, no obligation — just one honest conversation.
